There isn’t much in this world that can be as satisfying as a good camping trip. Nothing can match hanging out in nature, breathing clean air and living using your survival skills. Regardless if you are new to camping or an old pro, this article will provide you with tips for having the best possible camping experience.

Make sure to find your shelter before it gets dark. Once it is dark in the woods, pitching a tent can be next to impossible, finding firewood can be difficult and preparing food hard. Someone who isn’t very familiar with the outdoors can come to harm by placing their tent in an unsafe area due to being unable to see. Avoid this situation by finding shelter before the moon is out.

It is better to over-pack than to under-pack, especially for kids. Camping is messy business. Children seem to be magnetically attracted to dirt. This means that your kids will get dirty during the day. The solution is not to stop them from getting dirty, but to have clean clothes ready for them after they are done. The key is being prepared.

Be sure that you have a big enough tent for everyone that’s going to need it for shelter at night. That makes it easier for everyone to have a comfy time while they’re asleep and moving around when they have to get up in the dead of night.

Before you set out on your camping trip take the time to check the weather forecast for the area that you will be visiting. You can visit http://www.weather.com to check the weather just about anywhere. Be sure to look at the 10 day forecast along with extended weather patterns. If you have the correct information, you can pack properly.

Set up a “jungle breakfast” when you are camping with your kids. Tie juice boxes, tiny boxes of cereal and fruit to trees in the woods. Then when your kids get up, let them search for their food. It’s a great way to add a little magic to the camping experience.

Bring a bandanna or a large handkerchief with you when you go camping. In a pinch, that single piece of fabric can serve as a potholder, carrying bag, blotter, hand towel and paper towel. There are countless other uses for such items, so try your best to remember to bring a bandanna or a large handkerchief with you.

You can use dryer lint as a kindling to start a campfire with. Collect some lint from your clothes dryer to bring with you. Hang up a grocery bag beside your dryer and collect the lint in it. The morning of your departure, all you need to do is grab the bag and depart, kindling sorted!

If you are going camping, be sure to have a first aid kit. This kit will change depending on when and where you are camping but should always include the basics. Be sure to do your research and bring along any location-specific items you will need.

You won’t find many life experiences that rival camping. The natural scenery and the fresh air are wonderful things to enjoy when you are camping. Use these tips to have a relaxing trip to your desired location.
